Lois L. Lane

Lois Louise Lane the daughter of Arthur Guthery and Emma (McPherson) Guthery was born March 5, 1921 in Brown Branch, Missouri and passed away Feb. 4, 2008 at the age of 86 years 10 months and 29 days.
After working in a WWII bomber plant in Kansas City, she moved to Modesto, California where she and her husband Harry owned and operated a taxi company. She retired to Ava but needed to be more active so they moved to Springfield where, for a number of years, they owned and operated motels. A few years after Harry's death, she returned to the west coast and has lived in Fremont, California since 1981. Refusing to stay retied, she worked for Motel 6 until the age of 83. Lois was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Fremont, CA.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry C. Lane, three brothers, George, Bill and Fred Guthery, and two sisters Grace and Stella Guthery. She is survived by her children, Lee Adams and Patrick Lane, one grand-daughter, Melissa Lane and one great grand-son, Andrew Lane, all of Fremont CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Sat. Feb. 9, 2008 at 10 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel; Ava, MO with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens in Springfield, MO. A visitation will be from 9 A.M. until service time.
