Lois L. Strong
Ava, Missouri
Lois Lucille Strong, 88 years, 6 months, 11 days old, passed away on September 19, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
Lois was born March 8, 1928 in Girdner, MO to David Loftin and Ethel (Robertson) Loftin.
In her younger years Lois was a farmer and later she retired after working at Rawlings and Spalding Factories in Ava.
On September 17, 1947 Lois and Nova Leo Strong were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union four children were born.
Lois was a Christian and a member of the Ava General Baptist Church and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young girl.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing. She was an avid quilt maker with over one hundred quilts made and enjoyed by her and many in the community. Lois greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She has left her family with a legacy of hard work, scholastic achievement, creativity, and sacrifice. As in Proverbs 31:28, her children have been blessed to call her "Mom."
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ethel, her husband, Nova Leo in 1981, two brothers, Albert and Burrel Loftin, three sisters, Lela Loftin, Opal Forrest and Mabel Lakey.
Lois is survived by four children and their spouses, Clifford & Cara Strong, Mt. Vernon, MO, Boyd & Barbara E. Strong, Ava, MO, Paula & Lonnie Williams, Springfield, MO, and Glen & Bobbie Strong, Ava, MO, ten grandchildren and spouses, seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lois will be Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
In lieu of flowers, Lois requested that her memorials be made to the Loftin Cemetery Fund.
