Lonnie Joe “Buck” Strong, 63, passed away May 1, 2026 in Joplin, MO. He was born January 27, 1963 to Landon and Margaret Strong in Eureka Springs, AR.

Lonnie lived his whole life in Ozark County. He worked for years at Giles & Kendall Cedar Mill. He also worked a few years for Wal-Mart Cont. He loved his family, friends and fishing.

Lonnie is survived by his mother, Margaret Strong; one daughter, LaDonna Harvey and husband William; five grandchildren: Ella Harvey, Haley Harvey, Alyssa Harvey, Mia Harvey and Delilah Harvey; two great grandchildren: Avery Faye Simpson and Wyatt Alexander Massey; one sister Diane Riley and husband Jeff; and many cousins, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Landon; brother Lynn; and sister Donna; as well as aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Dotson. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Faye Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
