LORETTA SUE MADDOX

Funeral services for Loretta Sue Maddox, 77, of Gainesville, MO are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel , Gainesville, MO with Halbert Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Howards Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to service time.

Mrs. Maddox died April 17, 2016 at Pine Lane Therapy & Living Center in Mountain Home, AR. She was born December 18, 1938 in Howards Ridge, MO, the daughter of Jay Hicks and Christine (Kirkland) Stone. On December 22, 1956 she married Charles R. Maddox. Susie and Charles attended the Gainesville Church of Christ. She loved life and loved to laugh. She enjoyed gardening, canning, spending time with all of her family, especially her grandsons. She was always ready to whip up a hot meal for anybody when they came over. She took care of her family!!

She is survived by her son Bobby J. Maddox and wife Kelly of Gainesville; two grandsons Heath Maddox and Kyle Maddox; her brothers Coy Stone and wife Kathy, Kenny Stone and wife Brenda, Stanley Stone and wife Elsa, Roberts Hicks and wife Ella, Ron Hicks, Ed Hicks, Tom Hicks and wife Betty; her sisters Kay Stone, Judy Young and husband Randy, Donna Wood and husband Woody, Vera Pifer and husband Larry; and numerous neices, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Eddie Lee Maddox and Dennis Wayne Maddox; and her brothers B.J. Hicks, Carroll Stone and Richard Hicks.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Children's Home; 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop; Strafford, MO 65757 or to the Howards Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
