Loretta Marie Stevens-Stiles, left this world on June 16th, 2025 in Nixa, MO with her family by her side. She lived ninety-one wonderful years.
She was born in Thornfield, MO on September 23, 1933. She was raised in the farming community of McClurg, MO where she learned her strong work ethic. She was the oldest of six children and was instrumental in helping raise her younger siblings. She attended a one room school house in McClurg and later attended Bradleyville High School.
During this time, she met and married Raymond (Short) Stevens, on December 17, 1949. To this union four children were born: Mike, Pat, Gail, and Kim. Over the years, she worked at various occupations, but her joy in life was caring for her family.
Short and Loretta enjoyed traveling with family and friends. They made many trips out west for fruit picking and camping and hunting trips. They especially enjoyed visiting her Aunt Vi in Alaska. Short preceded her in death in 1998. A few years later she met and married Orvel Stiles. They had some wonderful years together. He also preceded her in death in 2014.
She had a strong love for God and her family. She was a member of the Nazarene Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mae Hicks and Vernie Jones, siblings, Donna, Treva, and Jr., granddaughter, Renee, son-in-law, Dale, and daughter-in-law, Tammy.
She is survived by siblings: Rose, Danny, and Betty, children: Mike Stevens, Pat and Carolyn Stevens, Gail and Jackie Adams, and Kim and Scott Davis, eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Loretta will be Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be grandson, Justin Adams. Donations can be made in her honor to Mills Cemetery.
