Lorraine Alta Welton, 90 years, 4 months, and 26 days old, passed to Heaven on March 5, 2015 at The Groves Nursing Home, Independence, Missouri.
Lorraine was born October 10, 1924 in Mineapolis, MN to Arthur and Minnie (Smith) Smith.
Lorraine and Berchie O. Welton were united in marriage in Ava, MO. They were blessed with two daughters.
Lorraine was a beautician and worked in her own shop out of her home.
She was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ, Independence, MO.
Lorraine loved flower gardening, irises were her favorites. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Lorraine was preceded by her husband Berchie in 1985.
Lorraine is survived by Jerri Walsh, and husband Edward, Overland Park, KS, Jewell Beem, and husband, Lawrence, Independence, MO, seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Lorraine will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015, 11:00 a.m. in the Ava Cemetery with burial to follow. Officiating will be Lawrence Beem and Rolland Sarratt. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Church of Christ Temple Lot Philippine Fund, PO Box 19 Independence, MO 64051.
