Louis Addison Prince, the son of Charles and Orene Prince, was born May 3, 1931 in Malden, Missouri, and departed this life July 6, 2007 at the age of 76.

Lou and Doris Lee were united in marriage on June 15, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri. They were blessed with three children.

Lou was preceded in death by his wife Doris and his parents Charles and Orene Prince.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Joe and Becky Klineline, Ava; his son Gary Prince, Columbia; and his daughter and son-in-law, Wes and Amy Barnum, Carl Junction. Lou was very proud of his five grandchildren, Chad Klineline, Springfield, Tyler Klineline, Springfield; Abbie Klineline, Ava; and Kyle and Megan Barnum, Carl Junction. Lou is also survived by his two brothers and sister-in-laws, Jack and Fay Prince and Bob and Joann Prince, St. Louis; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Mary Kliment, St. Louis; Arch and Harriett Wayne and Jerry and Helen Dauve, St. Charles; and special friends Bob and Delores Crain as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Lou made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ava.

He was proud of his family and loved to watch his grandchildren in their sporting events. Lou was a very good basketball and baseball player in high school. After high school he was signed by the New York Giants as a catcher. He then went on to work for Rawlings Sporting Goods for many years. Lou also worked for the Douglas County Sheltered Workshop.

Lou was in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, at the United Methodist Church of Ava at 11:00 A.M., with the Rev. Oren Alcorn and Rev. Marty Blakey officiating. Burial will follow in the Ava Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo.
