Louis James Stern

Thornfield, Missouri

Louis James Stern, 76 years, 4 months, 13 days old, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at Baxter Regional Hospital in Mtn. Home, Arkansas, with his family by his side.

Louis was born September 17, 1948, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, to  Warren Coolidge Stern and Violet Geraldine (Harlan) Stern.

He grew up in West Virginia, Ohio, and later moved to Missouri.

On July 8, 1988,  Louis and Laura Straight were united in marriage at Amsterdam, Ohio, and together were blessed with six children.

He was a farmer through and through. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His joy was his family and the Lord. Louis liked things simple and believed in hard work, that was his philosophy. He was a member of Thornfield House of Prayer and was baptized there. Louis said, "If you ain't got Jesus, you ain't got nothin."

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Louis is survived by his wife, Laura; his sons,  Louis, Jr., Tommy, and Isiah all of Thornfield, Missouri; three daughters, Dawn and Daisy from Ohio; and Aaliyah, from Thornfield; his granddaughters, Mia, Brixley, and Aliza, from Thornfield; and grandson, Johnny from Ohio; granddaughters, Stephanie and Rebecca of Missouri; and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Louis will be Monday, February, 3, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.  in the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, Missouri.  Officiating will be Pastor Stan Collins and Pastor Louis Stern, Jr. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri.
