LOYD FRANKLIN DILTS
Loyd Franklin Dilts, 85, of Theodosia, MO, formerly of Jesup, IA, went home to be with our Lord on May 28, 2017. He was born in Independence, IA on August 18, 1931, son of Verne Franklin and Gladys (Cornwell) Dilts.
Loyd enlisted in the United States Army in 1950, serving in the Korean War as a Sergeant in the 28th Recon Intelligence Armor Division, Tank Commander. On January 10, 1954, he and Phyllis Ficken were united in marriage in West Union, IA.
Loyd was mostly self-employed as an auto mechanic, body and fender man and water well driller. He never really retired. He enjoyed his family, traveling and boating. Work was his hobby and he greatly missed it.
Loyd is survived by the love of his life, Phyllis Dilts of the home; two sons Douglas Dilts of Theodosia, Mark Dilts and wife Sheila of Theodosia; one daughter Diana Abodeely of Montour, IA; three grandchildren Elias Abodeely, Maria Abodeely and Karli Dilts; five great grandchildren Ayana, Nakayla, Jayla, Isaiah and Ronnie John; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Verna and Marge; and two brothers Virgil and Homer.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Living Word Outreach in Theodosia, MO with Pastor Josephine Naegele and Pastor Patricia Frazier officiating. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
