Ava, Missouri

Lue Ellen Coy, 92 years, 10 months, 7 days old, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on April 18, 2026.

Lue was born June 11, 1933, in Douglas County, Missouri to Ebb and Corda Pruiett.

She was the youngest daughter of 8 children and was preceded in death by 6 of her siblings.

Lue and Everett “Pete” Coy were united in marriage on June 28, 1952, and four children were born to this union.

Lue enjoyed being outdoors whether she was working in her garden or sitting on her deck drinking coffee. She spent time traveling with her husband Pete and visiting different churches while they were away for Sunday services. She was the heart of a special family—Pete, along with their children, Richard, Wayne, Venita and Anita, shared their love for Jesus through music, performing together in churches. That faith carried through everything she did. She often reminded others of her love for Jesus and the desire to be with her Savior. She was a longtime member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. She was beautiful inside and out, and that kindness and strength touched everyone around her.

Lue was preceded in death by her husband Pete Coy on May 12, 2004; parents, Ebb and Corda Pruiett; siblings, Thetis Pruiett, Marvin Pruiett, Cletis Pruiett, Mae Cox, Sylvia Pinkel, Goldia Dixon; and her son Richard Coy on May 1, 2012.

Lue is survived by her brother, Johnny Pruiett, and wife Pauline of Illinois; children, Wayne Coy and wife Pam of Arkansas, Venita Brummet and husband Randy of Ava, and Anita Hamilton and significant other Mario of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; grandchildren, Chad Coy, Lisa Ralph, Brandon Coy, Shelly Hannaford, Justin Brummet, Boone Hamilton, and Cody Hamilton, and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, April 27th at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery for family and close friends.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
