Lydia Lorene Curtis
Ava, Missouri
Lydia Lorene Curtis, 90 years, 8 months, 6 days old, passed away to heaven, May 27, 2026, at Heart of The Ozarks Healthcare Center Ava, Missouri with her family by her side.
Lorene was born September 21, 1935, in Trail, Missouri to Lee Roy and Mable (Tetrick) Stephens.
She was a Christian and was baptized with her sisters and brother-in-law by nephew, Max Stephens. She attended Destination Church in Ava, Missouri.
On Feburary 16, 1953, Lorene and Edward Glen Curtis were united in marriage at Mountain Home, Arkansas and to this union they were blessed with a son, Ricky.
She enjoyed her family but most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorene and Glen always had the biggest garden. She was a great cook and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. For 29 years Lorene was a Certified Nurses Assistant at Chastain’s Nursing Home (Heart of the Ozarks) and worked as a housekeeper for many of those years.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; siblings, JT, Allen, Ellis, and John Stephens; and granddaughter, Nikki Curtis.
Lorene is survived by her son and wife, Ricky and Dianna Curtis; grandchildren, Jesse Curtis, Dalton and Dharma Curtis, Corey Neal, and Rebecca and Gary Simmons; great-grandchildren, Leedy Curtis, Levi Edic, Brooklynne Neal, Eleanor Simmons, Gage Simmons, Landon Curtis, Bowen Simmons, Kinslee Curtis, Brealynne Neal, Kason Simmons, and Colten Clark; siblings, Arlene and Wes Scott, Ruby Adams, Ollen and Sue Stephens, and Marvin and Teresa Stephens; and a host of other family members and numerous friends.
Funeral services for Lorene will be Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Clinkingbeard Chapel Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to the service at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in the Gentryville Cemetery, Gentryville, MO. Officiating will be Pastor James Hathcock and Brother Max Stephens. Memorials may be made to Gentryville Cemetery.
