Obituary

Lynn Augusta Shermond

Mansfield, Missouri

Lynn Augusta Shermond, 75 years, 5 months, and 9 days old, passed away on July 17, 2022 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, Missouri.

Lynn was born February 8, 1947 in Englewood, NJ to Gustave and Mildred (Seesle) Kleppe.

She was a Christian and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ava, Missouri. She was active in the church when able.  She loved children and helped out with the Pathfinder and Adventure Clubs through the years. She loved to send cards and made it one of her ministries.

Lynn was a member of the Adrain Owen VFW Post 5993 Auxilary in Ava, Missouri.

If you knew Lynn you knew she had a heart of a servant.  She loved to share her God given talents with others.  Some of those talents and hobbies were knitting, crocheting, painting, writing poems, crafts, gardening, nature, fishing and spending quality time with friends and family.

Lynn became an LPN in 1969.  She dormed at Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was an excellent nurse and a true caretaker at heart.  Lynn never stopped learning and continued her education in Tennessee where she took classes in coronary care and IV therapy. She worked nights in the ER at Wallkill Valley Hospital in New Jersey for sixteen years.  When she moved to middle Tennessee she worked on the heart floor at Centennial Hospital in Nashville for eight years.  She was so devoted to her patients.  Lynn received many awards for going above and beyond her job duties as a nurse.

Lynn was preceded in death by her, parents; son, Scott Michael Shermond, and brother, David Kleppe.

Lynn is survived by her children, Tara and Tim Esquilla, Matthew and Mary Curci, Christopher Curci, and Julie and Joe Ray, Jr.; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nephew Justin Kleppe and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lynn was loved so much by her family and friends.  To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement.  She had so many friends who became family because she loved and accepted people.  We all await the day we can be together again with her.

A Celebration of life for Lynn will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.   in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri.  Officiating will be Pastor Mitch Elrod.  Memorials may be made to Adrain Owen VFW Post 5993 Auxiliary in Ava, Missouri.  Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
