Mabel Sexton, 96 years, passed to heaven on October 20, 2010 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO with her children by her side.

Mabel was born August 24, 1914 in Ava, MO to Lum and Mindy (Manning) Walker.

Mabel was a Homemaker and a life long resident of the Ava area. On December 26, 1931 Mabel and William Ray Sexton were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union seven children were born.

Mabel was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. When she and Ray got to travel they would collect special rocks. She loved being in nature and the outdoors. Her joy in life was her family and all the children.

Mabel was preceded by her parents, her husband William Ray in 2001, four grandchildren, Danny Burnett, Tim Holt, Jeff Lawson and Ron Wyatt, one great grandson, Jason Wyatt, two brothers and one sister.

Mabel is survived by seven children, Dwain Sexton, Ava, MO, Harlan Ray Sexton, Seymour, MO, Norma Wyatt, Raytown, MO, Dorothy Lawson, Ava, MO, Cora Ann Massey, Ava, MO, Gena Myers, Richland, MO and
Donna Harmon, Mesa, AZ, 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Mabel will be Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Murray Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
