Obituary

Macel Jefferson, 90, of Gainesville, MO stepped quietly into eternity on December 18, 2018 at Gainesville Healthcare Center, after a long life spent serving the Lord. He was born June 24, 1928 in Douglas County, MO, son of Winton and Tavie (Barnes) Jefferson.
Macel married Betty Case May 20, 1946 and together they built a life filled with love for their children Terrie Burnett, Sharon Maillet, and Eric Jefferson.
During his life, Macel spent time picking apples in Washington, owned a milk route, and was a roofer, insulator, finish carpenter, bus driver, and all-around handyman. He was a skilled craftsman that could do anything he put his hand to and enjoyed whittling, painting, leather working, playing the guitar, and writing songs. A builder/construction worker by trade, Macel answered God's call to preach in 1959. He pastored churches in California, Oregon, Montana, Missouri, and Arkansas over a period of 35 years. At his passing, he was a member of Bridges Creek Baptist Church in Elijah, Missouri.
Macel was preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 47 years; daughter, Terrie; his parents; and four of his siblings. In addition to his children Shari and Eric, he leaves behind 10 grandchildren Geoff Graham, David Tierce, Lisa Clemenson, Daniel Tierce, Dustin Tierce, Lyndi Graham, Matthew Jefferson, Joshua Jefferson, Aaron Jefferson, and Seth Jefferson; his brother Delmos and 16 great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives across the country, including his dear friend Lyndell Strong of Gainesville.
...
Life is fleeting and death comes to all; but while we grieve his passing from this life, we can rejoice in his testimony of eternal life in Christ. And for those who share the gift of salvation there is assurance that we will see him again.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I Thessalonians 4:18
