It is with great sadness that the family of Mack James of Mt Vernon, MO, formerly of Tecumseh, MO announces his passing after a brief illness, on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the age of 90 years. He was born October 9, 1930 in Dawt, MO to Samuel Anthony and Martha Della (Hodgson) James.

Mack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Francis and his children, David James of Mount Vernon, MO,  Richard McHaffie of Owasso, OK, Victoria Green of Mount Vernon, MO, and Tammy McHaffie of Mount Vernon, MO. Mack will also be remembered by his 8 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Mack is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Della, and 9 siblings, Eplhy, Owen, Othel, Clenton, Jewel, Gracie, Clifford, Clarice and Vanton and one grandchild Stephanie.

Mack served his country with the United States Army and was proud to be a combat veteran of the Korean War. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than to take his kids and grandchildren hunting and fishing. He retired as a heavy equipment operator after 40 years.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m., at James Cemetery in Tecumseh, MO. Interment to follow. Arrangements are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
