Mackey Aaron James, 49 years, 10 months, and 29 days old, passed to heaven on December 15, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
Mackey was born January 17, 1964 in Cabool, MO to Charles and Norma (Page) James.
Mackey resided and attended school in Muscatine, IA. He returned to Douglas County in 1991 with his family. He was proudly employed through the Heat & Frost Insulators Local #63 out of Springfield, MO. He worked for the Local for 20 years, filling positions as laborer, journeyman, instructor, and was president at the time of his passing.
On October 15, 1982 Mackey and Connie Sue Davis were united in marriage in Muscatine, IA and to this union three sons were born.
Mackey enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting and driving his tractors.
Mackey was preceded by one brother, Jimmy F. James, a nephew, Jeremy A. Kelly and a great nephew, Trevor Lee White, his paternal grandparents, Burton and Mable James and maternal grandparents, Luther & Pearlie Page.
Mackey leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and wife of 31 years, Connie Sue (Davis) James, Ava, MO, three sons; Jacob Aaron James and Jonathan Mac James both of Ava, MO and Aaron Mackey James, Marshfield, MO, he also leaves behind six grandchildren; Landon, Apiphani Isaac, Trenity, Hayden and Aubrey, his parents,Charles & Norma James, Norwood, MO, five siblings; Charles "Joe" James, Debra James, Colleena Whitely, all of Ava, MO, Carl Jesse James, Tipton, IA and Jerry L. James, Fruitland, IA, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mackey will be Friday, December 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services per Mackey's request. Officiating will be Pastor Danny Douglas. Memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
