MAE LONG

Mae (Watson) Long was born at Romance, Missouri on December 21, 1937 to Oscar and Beulah (Rogers) Watson. Mae died peacefully in her sleep at home exactly as she had asked the Good Lord to take her when he determined it was her time.

Mae had countless friends and neighbors who loved her dearly and she loved them. She claimed her closest neighbors, Kenny and Jane Ann Magness, as her son and daughter. Mae was a hair dresser and owned her own beauty shop from the time she was 18 in 1956 until she sold and retired in 1979. Mae loved flowers, sewing, quilting, working in her garden, fruit trees and berry patches. She was born again into God's family and God's love was always evident in her face and her actions. Mae spent her life constantly striving to please others.

Mae is survived by a daughter Pattie Lorene Ayers and husband Todd (TC), one grandson Chancey Ayers of Theodosia, MO; two step-daughters Doris Earlene Searcy and husband Fred of Ava, MO and Avis Louise Miller and husband Eddie of Gainesville, MO; four step-grandchildren Greg Friend, Aaron Miller, Leslie Yearwood, and Paula Cairns; two step-great grandchildren Seth Miller and Bobbie Yearwood; sister Nellie Termin and husband Kenny of Springfield, MO; brother Calvin Watson and wife Jean, and brother Roy Watson all of Romance, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband Ottie Long, her parents Oscar and Beulah Watson, one sister Vernie (Watson) Eslinger, and one brother Chester Watson.
