Margaret Ellen Stirrat, 66 years, 2 months, and 7 days old, passed to Heaven on March 15, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO with her family by her side.

Margaret was born January 8, 1950 in Ava, MO to William Arthur and Ruby Ellen (Moore) Buchanan. She graduated from Ava High School.

Margaret was retired from Cracker Barrel Restaurant as a Cashier in Springfield, MO. On Dec. 29, 1990 Margaret and William "Bill" Stirrat were united in marriage in St. Louis, MO.

Margaret was a Christian. She had a love for learning, reading books and the desire to know Scottish history and the Buchanan genealogy in the family. Margaret loved her family and never missed acknowledging birthdays, events and etc.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Arthur Buchanan and a sister, Carolyn Ellison.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Bill Stirrat, Marshfield, MO, three daughters; Shelia Miller and husband Doug, Ava, MO, Brandy Lyons and husband, Ricky, Texas City, TX and Kelly Tabor, Marshfield, MO, her mother, Ruby Ellen Buchanan, Ava, MO, three step children, Lisa Lasher and husband, Dave, Jacksonville, FL, Heather Smith, Pennsylvania, and Christopher Stirrat and wife, Lisa, Oceanside, CA, grandchildren; Ciara Lohman, Julia Swofford, Kolton Davis, Jacey Swofford, Lucas Hutchens, Nate Swofford, Alandra Hutchens, Tristin Stirrat, Garrett Martin, Dakota Smith, Alicia Keomany and Tyler Hutchens, three great grandsons; Colby, Hesston, and Braden, one sister, Marilyn Cade, Falls Church, VA, brother-in-law, Bud Ellison, Tulsa, OK, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.


Memorial services for Margaret will be Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gentry Church, Ava, MO on K Highway. Officiating will be Pastor Dani Helm. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery, Rt. 1, Box 319, Ava, MO 65608. Cremation services conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
