Marguerite (Hambelton) Roll

Graveside services for Clelia "Marguerite" (Hambelton) Roll, 92, Dora, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Patrick Cemetery under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests everyone attending to wear a mask.

Mrs. Roll passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Brooke Haven Healthcare in West Plains.

She was born October 5, 1928 in the Luna Community of Ozark County, Missouri, to Roy and Agnes (Patrick) Hambelton.  She worked for and retired from Baxter Healthcare in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

From her marriage to Richard Cotter, there were four children:  Ernie, Margaret, Pete, and Debbie.  She was later married to Ken Roll.

Marguerite was very active and loved fishing, working in her garden, taking care of her chickens, and hosting family gatherings where she was famous for her enchiladas and chicken and dumplings.

She was a Christian and attended the Ball Church of Christ for many years.  She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lura Hambelton of Gainesville, and three children:  Ernie Cotter, Ash Grove, Missouri; Richard "Pete" Cotter and wife, Deb, West Plains, Missouri; Debbie Warren, Dora, Missouri and a son-in-law Randy Watkins, Dora, Missouri. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Eric, Ernie, Laura, Sam, Mark, Josh, Jacob, Michael, and Misty; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husbands, four siblings, brother Hugo, brother Bill and wife Fern, brother Ted and wife Lessie, sister Aletta and husband Don, daughter Margaret Watkins, grandson Randall Watkins, daughter-in-law Joan Cotter, son-in-law Jack Warren, and niece Janice (Hambelton) Lamar preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions can be made to Fair Haven Children's Home of Strafford, Missouri or the Alzheimer's Foundation and may be left at or mailed to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 65, Gainesville, MO, 65655.
