Marian was born July 12, 1949 in Streator, IL to Robert and Dorothy (Peterson) Leslie.

Marian was a Housewife and resident of Ava since 1995 moving from Republic, MO. Marian and Johnny Wintjen were united in marriage on January 12, 1998 in Ava, MO. She was a Christian and was baptized in the Bayview Baptist Church.

Marian enjoyed animals and loved riding horses. She loved to watch on TV the programs, "Deal or No Deal" and "The Price Is Right". She also loved fishing and just being in the outdoors.

Marian was preceded by her parents and one sister Melody Lynn. Marian is survived by her husband, Johnny Earnest Wintjen, Ava, MO, six children, Dennis & Jerry Thomas, of Mansfield, Cindy Thomas, Joe & Fred
Kolesar, IN and Johnny Wintjen, Jr., Ava, MO, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, seven brothers, Bobby Leslie, Peoria, IL, Michael Leslie, Wyoming, IL, Wayne & Don Leslie, both of Springfield, MO, Albert Leslie, Wichita, TX, Dale Leslie, St. Louis, MO and Gary Leslie, West Monroe, Louisiana, two sisters, Norma Jordan, Washington, IL and Nancy Abbott, Trion, GA, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Family requests memorials as a love gift to the family.
