Marie Fay Woolman, 85 years, passed away on September 4, 2012 at Jordan Creek Nursing Home, Springfield, MO.

Marie was born June 16, 1927 in Wilhoit, MO in Ozark County to Nathan and Dora (Sievert) Riley. She graduated from Ava High School.

Marie lived most of her life in the Ava community.On September 25, 1948 Marie and Elwood Woolman were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union two sons were born. Marie was a Christian and had attended the Ava Church of Christ. She enjoyed working on genealogy, cooking, knitting and quilt making, working on her computer, attending family reunions and spending time with all her family.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elwood in 2001, a son, Gary, two brothers, Omer Addis and Lynn Riley and one sister, Leona Hurst.

Marie is survived by a son & wife, Danny & Rhonda Woolman, Springfield, MO, grandson & wife, Jesse & Jessica Woolman, Ava, MO, two great grandsons, Peyton Woolman and Conner Rogers and other relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Marie will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Joe Corum. Memorials may be made to Ava American Legion or Ava VFW.
