Marjorie Flora Jeffrey, 97 years, passed to Heaven on July 30, 2014 at Ava Place, with her loving family by her side.

Marjorie was born June 11, 1917 in Walla Walla, Washington to Charles and Maude (Peck) Stratton.

Marjorie operated a daycare for many children through the years. She was a resident of the Ava community.

On October 15, 1938 Marjorie and Robert Jeffrey were united in marriage in Pullman, WA and to this union six children were born.

Marjorie was a Christian and attended First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. She enjoyed being surrounded by and taking care of children. She also liked to worked with her hands, crocheting and making things. Her joy was being with her family and especially the grand and great grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1994, a son Robert Jr. when he was six years old and her three brothers.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Norna Groff and husband Earl, Tonasket, WA, David Jeffrey and wife, Emma, Semmes, AL, Dan Jeffrey and wife, Barbara, Portland, OR, Ricky Jeffrey, Albuquerque, NM, Barbara Wright and husband William, Ava, MO, and Roger Pierce and wife Jan, Vancouver, WA, seventeen grandchildren, twentyfour great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Marjorie will be held at the Kimball Funeral Home, Pullman, WA, on Saturday, August 9th at 10:00 AM with burial in the Pullman City Cemetery. Officiating will be Roger Pierce. Memorials may be made to The Smile Train. Local arrangements being made by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
