Marlin Dean Dingman was born Nov 1, 1932 in Buffalo Center , Iowa. He was born to Milton and Irene Smith Dingman. He passed away Feb 20,
2011 at the age of 78 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri of congestive heart failure.
Marlin (Marv) is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Betty) Liscum Dingman. Daughters Carolyn
(Bill) Quinnett of Madison SD, Michelle Carpenter of Webster City, Ia, Kelly (Jim) Van Sickle of Laurens, Ia, Elaine (Ron) Mooney of LeMars, Ia and Mary Cejka of Cherokee, Ia. 9 grandchildren Corey (Jackie) Van Sickle, April (Jon) Graff, Lacey Van Sickle, Amanda(Jesse) Conrad, Travis Mooney, Rachael Mooney, Adam (Kati) Dingman, Chase Cejka,& Tanner Cejka. 7 step grandchildren, Nicole (Jeremy) Shores, Matt Quinnett, Greg Carpenter, Jamie Carpenter Chrystal Carpenter, Brooke Cejka and Brad Cejka. 8 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren, His step sister Marlene (Bill) Schubert, step brother Darrel Adams and several nieces and nephews.
Marv grew up in the Fort Dodge area before entering the Army in March of 1952, serving in the Korean War for 2 years. Marv and Betty were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua IA June 18th 1955. They lived in Humboldt until he retired from Geo, A. Hormel after 33 yrs.
They retired to Theodosia MO . in 1984.
Marv was a life member of the Amvets, Post 4 Fort Dodge,IA, and a life member of Post 5633 V.F, W. Isabella MO.
Marv and Betty enjoyed spending time together with their family and friends. He was a man who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially down at "grandpa's dock". Taking them for boat rides and fishing were two of his favorite activities. He will always be remembered by his loving and giving ways.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Ilene Dingman and Delbert and Irene Adams, an infant daughter Gwendolyn, a grandson Jeffrey McGillivray and his step brother Bernard Parrot.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO with Full Military Honors.
