Martha Ellen Eyman, 99 years, 5 days passed to heaven on September 2, 2014 at The Neighborhoods of Quail Creek, Springfield, MO with all her sons by her side.

Ellen was born August 28, 1915 in Douglas County, MO to Ruben and Josephine (Letsinger) Stephens.

Ellen was a resident of Springfield, MO for several years moving from Mansfield, MO. She was a homemaker.

On March 2, 1946 Ellen and Walter Windfield Eyman were united in marriage in Liberal, Kansas and to this union six children were born.

Ellen was a member of the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. She worked alongside her husband, Rev. Walter in their ministry for the Lord. Ellen enjoyed quilting, crocheting and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
She loved her family dearly and took pride in raising her sons to have strong faith.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter in 2006, three brothers, Luther, Orvil and Ivan Stephens and one sister, Edith Stephens and one daughter, Rita.


Ellen is survived by five sons and their spouses, Marvin & Paula Eyman, Springfield, MO, Stephen Eyman, Springfield, MO, Russ Eyman, Georgia, Ronnie Eyman, Springfield, MO, Rick & Marnida Eyman, Conway, MO, six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Ellen will be Friday, September 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Prairie Hollow Cemetery, Douglas County (off of Old Hwy5).Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Gene Terry and Rev. Alvin Hook. Memorials may be made to Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
