Martha Ernestine "Teenie" Hicks, 82, of Mountain Home, AR passed to heaven on June 25, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home, AR. She was born December 10, 1928 in Baxter County, AR, near Pigeon Creek, to Ernest and Myrtle (Martin) Bryant.


On September 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lue Hicks. Even though she traveled extensively throughout the United States with her husband and family on construction jobs, she always considered herself a life long resident of Baxter County. Teenie loved her family, her flowers, and her pets. She was well known in her community for her flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Teenie was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Bryant and Myrtle Bryant nee Martin; her husband Lue Hicks; one brother Tommy Bryant; one son Jack Huey; and one daughter Luean Uchtman.


She is survived by one son Randolph G. "Randy" Hicks of Mountain Home, AR; one daughter Pamela Jean "Pam" Gilbert of Mountain Home, AR; three grandchildren Jennifer Gaskill of Troutdale, OR, Shauna Houghland and J.L. Huey both of California; six great grandchildren C.J. Earnshaw, Kirsteen Houghland, and Jack P. Huey in California and Ashlynne, T.J. and Kianna Gaskill in Troutdale, OR.


A Graveside Funeral service for Teenie will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the Howards Ridge Cemetery.
