Martin John Hathcock, 88 years, and 19 days old, passed to Heaven on May 27, 2016 at his home in Ava with his family by his side.
Martin was born May 8, 1928 in Longrun, MO to Mackey and Mabel (Smith) Hathcock.
Martin was an Army Veteran, he was a Corporal and served during the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of the Troy Herd American Legion post #112 for over fourteen years.
He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Church and Deacon for more than forty years.
Martin and Mary Ann Hartley were united in marriage on July 26, 1953 at her parents home. They were blessed with six children.
Martin loved his farm, farming and riding his tractors. He loved his family and was always willing to help a friend. Martin immensely enjoyed working with the American Legion where he had many life-long friends. Martin loved his church and serving God.
Martin was preceded by his parents, his wife, Mary Ann in 2013, one brother, Willard Hathcock.
Martin is survived by his children and their spouses, Kathy Jo and Ed Koca, Milo, MO, Janice and DeWayne Mitchell, Ozark, MO, Pat "Kim" and Wes Smith, Norwood, MO, Ronda Ann and Eleazar Soto, Nixa, MO, Jimmy and Jo Hathcock, Ava, MO and Bob and Tari Hathcock, Washington, MO, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brothers, Trellis and Clifton Hathcock, sisters, Wilma Mielke and Pernie Adams, many other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Martin will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday, May 30th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor James Hathcock and Pastor Raymond Haden. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Cemetery or the Ava Senior Center.
