MARY ELLEN HALE
Mary Ellen Hale, 85, of Theodosia, MO passed away on May 4, 2015 at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO. She was born on May 19, 1929 in Lomita, CA, the daughter of Mitchell and Martha (Goldsworthy) Evashawick.
Mary grew up in California. After graduating high school, she went on to receive her degree in nursing. She moved to the Ozarks in the early 1960's and worked at a nursing home in Ava, MO. She then went to work in Gainesville as an RN for Dr. Beard, and later Dr. Obenauer. She helped deliver several babies in her many years here. The last ten years of her nursing career was spent at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. After retirement she volunteered as a grief counselor and HIV counselor. Mary spent her whole life caring for others. She was a Christian and attended the Episcopal Church in Mountain Home, AR.
She is survived by three children: John Hale of Washington State, Louis Burt of Theodosia, MO and Jenny Hoover of Gainesville, MO; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister Cora Potts of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Troy Hale; and two siblings.
