Mary Lou Ousley, 87 years, passed away on June 5, 2017 at her home in Springfield with her family by her side.
Mary Lou was born April 12, 1930 in Ava, MO to Charles and Grace (Lytle) Spurlock.
Mary Lou and Donnie Dell "Don" Ousley were united in marriage June 10, 1948 at Davenport, IA. They were blessed with five children.
Mary Lou was a 1948 Ava High School graduate. She was proud of being the Ava H.S. Drum Majorette and delighted in being the Queen of the annual fall festival. She was a Christian and attended the Gentryville Church of God with Don.
Mary Lou was a retired public school secretary from Skyline and Dora school systems. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at the Pilot Knob Chapter and later with the Mansfield Chapter #76. Mary Lou enjoyed being with her family, cooking, sewing, reading, and music. She loved playing the piano and organ. Mary Lou also loved attending horse shows and cutting horse competition events with Don.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don in 2016, a son Donnie in 2009, grandson Larry Ousley II, great-granddaughter, Chloe Martinez, a great-grandson, Jake Wheeler, and three sisters, Cinita, Imogene, and Betty.
Mary Lou is survived by her children and their spouses, Larry & "Wellie" Ousley, Phillipines, Kathy & Larry Rigger, Springfield, MO, Bentley & Lisa Ousley, Kansas City, MO and Lisa & Gary Croney, Dora, MO, ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister and husband, Martha & Ed "Boots" Stadler, Ozark, MO and many other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mary Lou will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Pleasant Home Cemetery, Drury, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, June 10th, from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Lacey Wallace. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Home Cemetery.
