MAXINE SHAW SHANERMAN

Maxine Shaw Shanerman, 93, of Nixa formerly of Gainesville, MO passed away Thursday evening, January 4, 2018 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. She was born January 18, 1924 to Robert Ace and Alta Mearl (Farmer) Shaw Johnson in Pontiac, MO

Maxine graduated from Magdalene High School, Magdalena, New Mexico and attended college in Albuquerque, NM.

Maxine was a dedicated employee who received many awards and recognition throughout her career. Her most treasured accomplishment was serving as past President of the Alexandria, Virginia chapter of Sigma Delta Phi, where she was awarded special honors that are recorded in the National Archives of Sigma Delta Phi in Washington, D.C.

Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gainesville where she shared her love of music through serving as pianist. She also served as past Worthy Matron and organist of the Eastern Star, OES, #432.

She is survived by her son, Phil Hamilton of Michigan; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Letty Moss of Kentucky and one sister-in-law Barbara Shaw of Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Sherry Parker; and four brothers, James, Glen, Bob and Ralph Shaw.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Pontiac Cemetery, Pontiac, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Pontiac Cemetery and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
