Maxine Williams

Maxine (Johnson) Williams, 96 years, 11 months, 26 days old, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 at the Baptist Home in Ozark, MO with her family by her side.

Maxine was born April 28, 1928 in Squires, Missouri, to Walter and Mae (Goodnight) Johnson.

Maxine was raised in Douglas County, Missouri, and she graduated from Ava High School. On April 15, 1945, Maxine and Jay C. Williams were united in marriage at the Ava United Methodist Church. They were blessed with two children, Rina and Roger.

Jay C. and Maxine became dairy farmers in Douglas County. After farming for several years and raising their children, they moved to St.Charles, Missouri. Maxine worked for 25 years for a company that manufactured silicon computer chips. She then retired and moved back to the Ozarks.

She was a Christian and always attended church throughout her life.

She and Jay loved traveling the United States in their camper. They also got the opportunity to go to Canada. She loved making ceramics and tending to her garden. Maxine adored her family, especially her grand, great, and great great grandchildren. Her legacy of love will live on in her family. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mae; her husband, Jay C. Williams; her son, Roger Williams; and a sister, Leatta (Johnson) Murray.

Maxine is survived by her daughter and her husband, Rina and Joe Daniel; a sister, Deatta (Johnson) Mckinley; a brother, David Johnson; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services for Maxine will be, Monday, April 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in  the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Monday at 1:00 p.m.  Officiating will be her grandson, Ryan Williams.
