Melissa Regina West, 60 years, 4 months, and 8 days old, passed away on, October 2, 2022 at Heart of the Ozarks in Ava, Missouri.

Melissa was born May 24, 1962 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Russell Earl and Lillian Esther (Puckett) Somers.

Melissa was an Army Veteran and served her country honorably.

Melissa and Daryl West were united in marriage in Cobleskill, NY.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, being outdoors, gymnastics, knitting and crocheting.

Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl West; her parents; sister, Jessica Somers; and brother, Mark Somers.

Melissa is survived by her son, Gregory Somers; brother, Rodney Somers; five nephews, Jacob Somers and partner, Steven, Troy, NY, Jared Somers, Huntsville, AL, Lukas Somers, Ava, MO, Zachary Brodeur and wife, Lacie, Ava, MO, and Joshua Hitchcock and wife, Cyn Marie, Carlisle, NY; many great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Lory Miers and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Army Detail.  Cremation services for Melissa are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
