Merdith Irene Stamper

Merdith Irene Stamper, 79 years, passed to heaven on November 23, 2009 at her home with her family by her side.

Merdith was born April 27, 1930 in Goodhope, MO to Austin and Ettie (Plumb) Bloomer.

On Oct. 4, 1947 Merdith and Leslie C. Stamper were united in marriage at Mtn. Home, AR and to this union four sons were born. Merdith was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She retired from working at Emerson Electric for several years. Merdith also worked as a Cook for the Ava Public School System for many years. She was a Christian and attended church. Merdith loved gardening, embroidering and cooking for all of her family and friends.

Merdith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leslie in 1977 and twelve brothers and sisters.

Merdith is survived by four sons, Dale Stamper & wife, Stephanie, Arthur Stamper, all of Ava, Vaughn Stamper & wife, Letha, Theodosia, and Marvin Stamper Ava, MO, five grandchildren, Bo Stamper, Kathie Zook, Travis Stamper, Shelley Hill and Leslie V. Stamper, three great grandchildren, Kalyssa & Tristen Zook and Remington Hill, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Merdith will be Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Comer and Rev. Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Cemetery or to the donors choice of charity.
