Michael Carter, 53 years, passed away on February 7, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.
Michael was born June 6, 1958 in Bell Garden, CA , to Thurman Alvin and Mattie (Ward) Carter.
Michael was a resident of Ava for several years and was employed by Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava as a Licensed CNA. He had worked there for over 17 years. He was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church at Ridgecrest, CA. On March 13, 1997 Michael and Marsha Blanton were united in marriage in Ava, MO.
Michael enjoyed watching professional wrestling and he loved his work at Heart of the Ozarks. His work was his life and he will be greatly missed by the staff and patients.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Thurman Alvin Carter, and his mother, Mattie Wright.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marsha Carter, Ava, MO, his step-father, Charles Wright, Ava, two brothers, Ernie Carter, Ridgecrest, CA and Therman Carter, Green River, WY, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Michael will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Prayer will be led by Rev. Robert Roberts.
