Michael Lee "Mike"Jones

Ava, Missouri

On April 5th, 2017 Michael Lee Jones, 64 years, went home to be with the Lord after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Michael Lee was a family man that loved friends, family, hunting, tinkering, and church.

Michael was married to his lovely wife, Lucy (Satterfield) for 43 years. They were blessed with five children.

Michael was born April 18th, 1952 in Claremore, OK to Orlo Frank and Earline Mary (Davis) Jones. Sixteen short years later, Mike would begin his Pipelining career with his Dad. Mike would be working on the road for the remainder of his life.

During this time, Mike would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and become an ordained Preacher in the Freewill Baptist Assn. During his time as a minister, souls were saved, people were baptized, marriages were performed, and funerals were preached.

Mike was a good hearted man that never met a stranger and never passed up a chance to call someone, "ugly". He will truly be missed by the many friends and family members whose hearts he touched.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Andrew and Kenneth Roy Jones, a sister, Cindy Shelton, and a great granddaughter, Kimber Wilhite.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Lucy of the home, three daughters and their spouses, Becky & Ross Hutsell, Sondra & Anthony McCord, Christie & Jack Vauter, two sons and their spouses, Kenneth & Alison Jones, and Robert & Alisha Jones, and a "PA" to a numerous number of grandkids, five siblings, James Ray Jones, Giles Jones, Lisha Wallace, Grace Stover, and Valerie Hastings, many nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Michael Lee will be Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Friday, April 7th at 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation to follow services per Michael's request. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Jones and Brother, Anthony "Bub" Coonce. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
