Naida Hartley

Naida Hartley, 99 years, 10 months, 23 days old, passed away on April 3, 2018 at her home.

Naida was born May 10, 1918 in Douglas County, MO to Isaac Sherman and Margaret Catherine (Manning) Brown.

Naida was Co-Owner and operator with her husband, Voyne, of the Hartley Shoe Store in Ava on the square for many years.

On April 10, 1938 Naida and Voyne Hartley were united in marriage in Ava, MO and were blessed with two sons, Ronnie and Glen.

Naida was a member of Nubbin Ridge Homemaker's Club for over 50 years. She was a Christian and attended Life Church when she was able. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and always wanting to help people in need. Her joy was her family!

Naida was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Voyne in 2001, five brothers, John, Clarence, Lewis, Everett, and Glen Brown, three sisters, Velma Gary, Lula Hicks, and Veda Garland, her twin.

Naida is survived by her sons, Ronnie Hartley and Glen Hartley and wife, Laurie all of Ava, six grandchildren, Kim & Clay Allen, Rogersville, MO, Connie & Bryan Dean, Mansfield, MO, Barbi & Ken Helms, Palatka, FL, Rita & Joe Swofford, Ava, Andy Hartley, Ava, and Geoff & Beverly Hartley, Ava, 12 great grandchildren, Crystal & Dan Isaacs, Cleveland, TN, Ashley & Brent Burke, Fortworth, TX, Hannah & Gabe Beck, Rogersville, MO, Shawna & Brad Clevenhagen, Ava, Abby & Adam Robertson, Ava, Jesse Dean, Springfield, MO, Mac & Sam Helms, Palatka, FL, Rachel & Joey Swofford, Ava, and Abby & Grant Hartley, Ava, six great great grandchildren, Elam, Elias, and Ezrah Isaacs, Evelyn Burke, and Chance & Andrew Clevenhagen, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Naida will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Arno Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts. Memorials may be made to Arno Cemetery.
