Naomi Faye Watkins, 57 years, 6 months, and 13 days old, passed to her Heavenly home on September 20, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with her family and friends by her side.

Naomi was born March 7, 1969 at Seymour, MO, Dogwood community to Almus Richard and Norma Faye (Greene) Watkins.

She graduated from Ava High School in 1988. Naomi has always worked. Her last employment was working for Mercy Rehab in Springfield, MO in the dietary department serving the patients. In her earlier years she worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava for many years until it closed.

Naomi was a woman of faith. She became an Evangelist and pastored churches. Her most current church was Wagner Church in Douglas County. She attended church all of her life. Her goal was to reach people for the Lord and that she did.

She enjoyed her dog, Hot Rod. Naomi loved gospel music and going to church. She also went to churches in Webster and Wright counties. In addition she loved spending time with her family. She was considered the “Rock” in her family. She will be greatly missed but knowing she loved the Lord eases the heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Almus Richard; her grandparents, Henry and Mildred Greene, whom she cared for and William and Louise Watkins; and her nephew, Dalton Watkins.

Naomi is survived by her mother, Norma Faye Jones; siblings and their spouses, Amy Watkins, Arlen & Peggy Watkins, Jerry & Venessa Watkins, and Steven & Valerie Watkins; many nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. A special recognition of thanks to her caregivers and friends, Vanessa and Emajean Roam.

Funeral services for Naomi will be Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri with a visitation prior to the service at 9:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Bookout. Cremation will follow services per Naomi’s request. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering.
