NELITA HAWKINS

Nelita Hallene (Farmer) Hawkins, 81, of Noble, MO passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at her residence. Nelita was born in Seminole, OK on February 14, 1931 to Leonard Wesley Farmer and Edythe Katheryn (MacAllister) Farmer.

After high school Nelita married Dexter Walter Hawkins at Willhoit, MO on April 8, 1950 by Rev. Jim Pitchford. They began their family farm, where they raised their seven children. Nelita was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a joyous person who loved life, always found the positive in every situation, and could lift any one up with her great sense of humor.

Nelita loved life and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, going out to eat, and the Red Hatters Club. When she was able, she enjoyed attending Oak Grove General Baptist Church.

Nelita was preceded in death by her husband Dexter; three children Kathy J., David W., and Donald W. Hawkins; three brothers Donald F., Harrison W., and Robert D. Farmer; and both her parents. She is survived by three sisters-in-law Sylvia Farmer of Topeka, KS, Francis Farmer of Oklahoma and Norma Hawkins of Mountain Grove, MO; four children Dan Hawkins and wife Rhonda, Dennis Hawkins and wife Lisa, Debra Delp and husband Randall, and Doug Hawkins and wife Gina all of Noble, MO; a daughter-in-law Fe Hawkins of Las Vegas, NV; ten grandchildren; three step grandsons; nine great grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; a multitude of nieces, nephews and other family and many special friends, especially her dear friend Becky Hesterlee.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Ron Pinckney officiating. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Sims Cemetery; American Cancer Society; or the giver's choice. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
