Obituary

Nina Lou Ruth (Willbanks) Blair, 76, of Price Place, Arkansas, passed away April 19, 2015, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Nina was born on July 6, 1938 to Lawrence and Argie Willbanks, of Price Place, Arkansas.

Nina was a graduate of Gainesville High School, class of 1957. On June 30, 1957, Nina married Bernis Blair in Cleveland, Mississippi in a double wedding ceremony with their lifelong friends, Ray and Alvalene Matthew. Nina and Bernis celebrated 57 years of marriage together. They had three children, Rick Blair, Tonja Cox, and Lisa Copeland. The family grew with the addition of 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Nina was an artist who loved to paint, and had a booth at Hootin and Hollerin for 15 years where she sold her many beautiful paintings. She wrote the Price Place news column for the Ozark County Times for many years. She was a member of the Frontier Baptist Church, and often regretted her inability to attend services because of her prolonged illness. She loved her family, friends, and fishing. She was always happiest when the grandkids were coming. She loved helping family and friends, and never turned away someone in need. Her door and her heart were always open.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Melvin Willbanks, and her mother, Argie Willbanks. She is survived by her husband, Bernis Blair, her son, Rick Blair, and daughter in law, Marjorie Blair; and daughter Tonja Cox, all of Price Place, Arkansas; her daughter, Lisa Copeland, and son in law Aaron Copeland of Moore, Oklahoma; grandsons Brock Peters and his wife Pam, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Daniel Cox, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Drew Vaughn, of Norman, Oklahoma, Brandon Copeland and Shane Copeland, of Moore, Oklahoma; granddaughters Monica Atwood and husband Phil, of Kansas City, Missouri; Nikki Messick, and husband Kain of Sturtevant, Wisconsin, Brittany Hoss and husband Michael of Nashville, Tennessee; Kara Copeland, and Bethany Copeland, of Moore, Oklahoma; Great-grandsons Carter and Ryder Vaughn of Rogersville, Missouri; Bradley Atwood of Kansas City, Missouri; Logan Messick, of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; Great-granddaughters Taylor Atwood, of Kansas City, Missouri, Madison, Olivia, and Lillian Peters of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Lillian Faith Vaughn of Moore, Oklahoma. She leaves behind her best friend of 60 years, Alvalene Matthew, of Giep, Arkansas, and a "daughter of the heart" Brenda English, of Price Place, Arkansas.
