Obituary

Bartonville, IL- Noah "Old Blue" Collier, 85 of Bartonville, died at 12:43 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington, IL.


He was born February 2, 1927 in Carrollton, AR to Ernest K. and Winnie E. (Burkett) Collier. He married Thelma Horner on October 4, 1948 in Harrison, AR. She survives of Bartonville.

Also surviving are two children, Larry (Trina) Collier of Pella, IA and Janice Collier of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Benjamin Collier of Ft. Collins, CO and Amanda (Brandon) Albritton of Farmerville, LA; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Chance, and Bently Albritton; his special neighborhood friend, Maddie; and his loving dog, Andy.

Noah was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Dennis and one sister Tommy Rhea Edwards.

He was a member of UAW Local #974 and worked as a crane operator at Caterpillar, Inc. retiring in 1985 after 30 years of service.
Noah was a WWII Army Veteran and member of American Legion Post #979 in Bartonville.
He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards.
Noah was an avid CB radio operator, bowler and Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Pastor Andy Decker will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Ava, MO with full military honors by Ava American Legion #112 and VFW #5993. Graveside services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava.
Memorials are requested to the American Lung Association.
