Noah Paul Taylor, 90, Gainesville, Mo., died Aug. 13, 2017, at the Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lamar, Mo. The son of Ewin O. Taylor and Zora E. (Henderson) Taylor, he was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Newton County, Ark. He attended school at Jasper, Ark.
An Army veteran of World War II from 1945 to 1947, Noah served with Company A, 240th Engineer Construction Battalion in Osaka, Japan, as a Tech 5. He retired from Judy's Insulation in Harrison, Ark., after having spent many years in the truck driving profession in Arkansas and California. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Teamsters Union. He was a Christian, having committed his life to the Lord in 1966.
He married Anna Ruth (Burton) Taylor on Aug. 18, 1945, in Harrison, Ark., and to this union three children were born. They were later divorced.
He married Clara Sylvia (Ecklin) Webb on June 3, 1992, in Gainesville, where they then resided. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Jones and husband Bill, of La Pine, Ore.; Sharyon Duke of Nevada, Mo.; and Connie Legare of Leavenworth, Kan.; eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Taylor of Jerome, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Penny Webb, John Webb and wife Susie, Bruce Webb and wife Martha, and Kenton Webb; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Sylvia, and his parents, Ewin and Zora Taylor, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Calvin Taylor; three sisters, Vergie Ramey, Wanda Jenkins, and Lula Belle Hulsey; and two sons-in-law, Byron Duke and C.J. Legare.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, with Bro. Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly Ridge Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Pallbearers are Bruce Webb, John Webb, Kenton Webb, and Hunter Webb. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home. Gainesville, MO.
