NOLA SUE (MELTON) NANCE

Nola Sue (Melton) Nance, 81, of Noble, MO, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her home with her children by her side. She was born May 19, 1938 at Romance, MO, the daughter of Herman and Dalta (Naugle) Melton.

She graduated Gainesville High School at the age of 16. She worked as secretary at the propane plants Union Gas and Synergy for 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, and embroidery. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and was well known for her van with EP-FAN license plates. She was a member of the Jerry Presley Club and attended most of his shows in his early years. In her later life, she became obsessed with the singer Prince.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hawkins and husband Dennis of Noble, MO, two sons Loren Nance, and Layne Nance and his special friend, Tammie Loftis of Romance, MO; one sister Nova "Jean" Blisard of Gainesville, MO; brother-in-law Jack Nance of Wilhoit, MO; three sisters-in-law Barbara Loftis of Noble, MO, Annevee Loftis of Nottinghill, MO, and Pauline Nance of Ozark, MO; six grandchildren Dillon and Dalton Hawkins, Dara Collins, Andrew Jonas, Aaron and Will Nance; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Brandt Nance in 2001; great-grandson Marshall Dale "Ironman" Collins in 2014; and sister Norma Hawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Milan Chisam officiating. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery at Romance. Pallbearers are Layne Nance, Dillon Hawkins, Dalton Hawkins, Seth Collins, Aaron Nance, Andrew Jonas. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
