NORMA PITCHFORD HANNAFORD COBB

Funeral services for Norma (Pitchford) Hannaford Cobb, 99, of Gainesville, MO will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Norma died peacefully at the Gainesville Healthcare Center on January 25, 2017.

Norma was born May 26, 1917 in the Luna community near Gainesville, the daughter of Will and Ethel (Luna) Pitchford. On November 11, 1932, she married Basel Hannaford, son of George and Martha Wattenbarger Hannaford. They were married 59 years, before Basel's death in 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald and Norman and wife Linda Hannaford; three grandchildren, Sandra Nimmo, Holly Ostreng and husband Troy, Heath Hannaford and wife Emily; seven great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by the untimely death of her first born son, Donald Gene in 1955. Others who preceded her were her husband, parents, two grandchildren, Lisa Lynn Hannaford and Richard Allen Hannaford, two brothers, Loyd and Doin Pitchford, a sister, Gail Standage, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hannaford.

On February 28, 1999, Norma married Averil Cobb of West Plains after renewing a youthful courtship. They enjoyed their brief married life for a year and half before Averil died.

Norma was a Christian and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.
