Norma Jean Frye

Norma Jean Frye, 69 years, passed away on March 14, 2011 at Gainesville Healthcare Center in Gainesville, MO. after a short illness.
Norma was born July 28, 1941 at Squires, Mo, the oldest child of Cecil and Iva (Degase) Turner.
She graduated from Ava High School and went to work for Ava Drug. On May 13, 1961 Norma and Lawarence Frye were united in marriage in Ava, MO. They moved to Peoria, Illinois where she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Bannis and later worked for Illinois Eye Center. Norma and Lawarence were blessed with a son Eric while living in Peroia.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Lawrence in 1994, and shortly thereafter she and Eric moved back to Ava. Norma was a faithful member of the Faith Rock Church and along with going to church and Wednesday night quilting she enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting dolls and dishes.
Norma is survived by one son, Eric Frye and wife, Cindy, Lone Jack, MO, one granddaughter, Rose Lynn, one brother, Jim and Audrey Turner, Squires, and four sisters and their husbands, Rosella and Wilford Clayton, Wasola, MO, Vonda and Ronnie Cantrell, Gainesville, MO, Marsha and Stan Collins, Noble, MO and Rebecca and Dan Cottengim, Rogersville, MO, several nieces, nephews, sisters-n-laws, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Norma will be Friday, March 18, 10:00 A.M. in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday March, 17 from 6 till 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Sister Betty Hesterlee and Sister Olive Roy. Memorials may be made to Gideon's.
