NORMA JEAN RAMSEY

Norma Jean Ramsey, 87, Pontiac, MO passed away on March 15, 2010 at the Gainesville Health Care Center. She was born on February 22, 1923 in Success, MO the daughter of Ernest and Nancy Satterfield.

On August 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to Sam Ramsey in St. Louis, MO. Norma Jean was considerate, outgoing, and ornery. She loved her Sam. Fishing, cooking and canning were a few of her many talents. She made beautiful quilts. Norma Jean missed playing cards with her friends Alice, Orville and Mickey. Norma Jean was known around Pontiac as the Nut Lady for the walnuts she picked and cleaned as only she could do. Her favorite trip was going to Tunica, MS and playing Double Diamonds. Norma Jean will be dearly missed. She was a Christian and a member of the Price Place Church.

She is survived by one nephew Billy Satterfield of St. Louis, MO; two nieces Linda of St. Louis, MO and Virginia Beckham of Pontiac, MO; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Nancy Satterfield; her husband Sam Ramsey; two brothers Marshall and Earl; and two sisters Thelma and Wilma

A Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Pontiac Cemetery, Pontiac, MO with Jeff Corder officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
