Norman Eugene Duckworth, 83 years, 9 months, and 20 days old, passed to heaven on November 3, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.



Norman was born January 14, 1928 in Toledo, MO to Homer and Lizzie (Daves) Duckworth.



Norman lived most of his life in the Ava community.On March 8, 1946 Norman and Norma Guthery were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union three sons were born.



Norman worked for Curt Evans at the Stave Mill and hauled propane gas for him. He later worked for Welton Gravel in Ava for 26 years as a Crew Supervisor and he also was a farmer. He was a Christian and a member and Deacon of the Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church. He enjoyed providing transportation to church services and making crafts for "Old Folks Day."



In his retirement, Norman enjoyed woodworking and the Thursday night music at the Ava Theater. He dearly loved his family.



Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Norma, a son, Ronnie Dean, a sister, Hazel McAllister and two brothers, Virgil and infant brother, Claude Edward.


Norman is survived by two sons, Dale Eugene Duckworth and Randy Lee & Ann Duckworth, all of Ava, MO, daughter-in-law, Cindy Duckworth, Bloomfield, MO, six grandchildren, Jeremy Duckworth, Julie & Brad Divine, Rhonda Duckworth, Jason & Lorrie Duckworth, Eric Duckworth and Becky Duckworth, three great grandchildren, Torrie & Caleb Baker and Holden Duckworth, one brother, Bill & Velma Duckworth, Nixa, MO many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Norman will be Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn and Pastor Dennis Shumate. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor General Baptist Church or Otter Creek Cemetery.
