Opal Floy Johnson, 80 years old passed away at her home on November 24, 2010 with her family by her side.

Floy was born October 7, 1930 in Vernal, UT to Hyrum and Bertha (Reid) Slaugh.

Floy was a resident of the Ava community since 1981 moving from Vernal, UT. She and Grant ran a dairy farm. On June 5, 1948 Floy and Grant Johnson were united in marriage in Vernal, UT and to this union eight children were born.

Floy's joy was being with her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ava, MO.

Floy was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Morgan Johnson and one daughter, Dana Lynn Long and one sister, Nita Powell.

Floy is survived by her husband, Grant Johnson, Ava, MO, six children, Lorene Stubbs and Dell Johnson, both of Vernal, UT, Kent Johnson, Ava, MO, Carrie Shiflett, Vernal, UT, Darrell Johnson, Fordland, MO and Glendon Johnson, Ava, MO, 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, three brothers, Wade and Jay Slaugh both of Vernal, UT and Nolan Slaugh, Salt Lake City, UT, one sister, Gwen Williams, Collins, MO, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Floy will be Monday, November 29, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ava, MO with burial in the Brushyknob Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the church. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Bishop Roger Kjar.
