Obituary

ORENE T. BARRON

Orene T. Barron was born on May 10, 1918 in Woodland, Mississippi to Abe Thrasher and Zora (Ashby) Thrasher. On November 30, 1934 Orene was married to Hollis Barron in Chatfield, Arkansas. To this union 2 children were born, Edward "Leon" Barron and Mary "Red" Barron Watson.
Orene was a homemaker most of her life. After moving from Dyer, Tennessee to Memphis, Orene and Hollis opened a café, "The Spur", where she did all the cooking and baking. In the 1960's they moved to Hughes, Arkansas, there they lived by the lake enjoying fishing trips on the lake for those fish frys. Also enjoying dancing at the VFW.
In 1974 they moved to Caulfield where they raised cattle and horses and attended horse shows.
Orene became a member of the Am Vets Aux. and the Elks. She was very active in her life. She enjoyed bingo, scratch offs, 31, going to the casinos. And enjoyed traveling up until falling ill.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family with a proud heart.
Orene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She never met a stranger; everyone was welcome in her home.
Orene will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Orene is survived by her sister Becky Stidham of Oxford, Mississippi, 6 grandchildren Charles Watson Jr. of Caulfield, Missouri, Rusty Watson and wife Diane of Leesburg, Georgia, Eddie Barron and wife Kathy of Caulfield, Missouri, Kay Parrish and husband Buddy of Leesburg, Georgia, Ann Batesel and husband Danny of Caulfield, Missouri, Deanna Edmonds of Caulfield, Missouri; special nephew Aaron Franks and wife Barbara of Caulfield, Missouri; 11 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Orene is preceded in death by her husband Hollis Barron, son Leon Barron, daughter Mary Katherine Watson, granddaughter Tonya Lee Barron, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and her parents.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:00 am, Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri. Burial will follow at Fowler Chapel Cemetery in Caulfield, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8 pm.
