Orvell Stanley Stiles, 92 years, was called home by his Heavenly Father on September 25, 2014 at Quail Creek Skilled Nursing Facility, Springfield, MO with his loving family by his side.
Orvell was born August 15, 1922. He was adopted and raised by Tom and Willie Ann (Wedgworth) Stiles and raised in Shamrock, OK, along with his brother, Noble.
In 1940, at age 17, Orvell joined the United States Army and served his country for five years as a Corporal. After leaving the Army in 1945 Orvell became a chef and worked at various restaurants along the West Coast.
In 1989, Orvell returned to Oklahoma where he remained close to family until his wife, B, passed away. Orvell then moved to the Ava area to be near his brother, Chester and this is where he met Loretta Stevens. Orvell and Loretta were married August 12, 2000.
Orvell will long be remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Orvell was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, B, two step-daughters, two brothers, Noble Stiles and Chester Tate, and a sister, Valley Tetrick.
Orvell is survived by his loving wife, Loretta of the home, four step-children, Mike and Tammy Stevens, Garrison, MO, Pat and Carolyn Stevens, Clever, MO, Jackie and Gail Adams, Bradleyville, MO, and Scott and Kim Davis, Ava, MO, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Orvell will be Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Pastor Vernon Fuller officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, September 30, 2:00 p.m., at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Mills Cemetery.
