Otto "Buster" Vinson, 86, of Columbia, and formerly of West Plains, MO, passed away September 8, 2012 at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital.

Private services are being held in Ava, Missouri on Monday, September 10, 2012. Interment will take place in Ava Cemetery under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.

Otto was born March 15, 1926 in Douglas County, Mo to J.W. and Alta (Love) Vinson. He married Ruth Jackson on January 30, 1944. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2007. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing pinochle. Otto really enjoyed Cardinal baseball.


He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Otto is survived by one son, Alan Vinson and his wife Marilyn of Columbia; one daughter, Jacque Julian and her husband, Eric, of Manitou Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
