Owen E. Denney, 82 years, passed away on November 18, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Owen was born July 15, 1930 in Ava, MO on the family farm to Lonnie Jackson and Lilly (Cole) Denney He graduated from Ava High School.
Owen was a beef farmer and a lifelong resident of the Ava community.
On June 24, 1950 Owen and Norma Flynn were united in marriage in Ava, MO.
Owen was a Veteran and served with the U.S. Army/Air Force. He enjoyed working on his Missouri Farm Bureau Century Farm. He also enjoyed raising Black Angus cattle and visiting with family and friends. He was a hard worker and an honest man. He was "plain old country folk" and enjoyed that life to the fullest. Owen believed the philosophy of "treat everyone like you would want to be treated yourself." He will be missed and remembered with love by all those who knew him.
Owen was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, and his mother- and father-in-law, Wilma and Kenneth Flynn.
Owen is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Denney and a host of family, relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services for Owen will be Friday, November 23, 2012, 11:00 a.m. in the Denney Cemetery, Ava, MO. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or Denney Cemetery .
